Karlovo Photovoltaic Power Plant is located in the municipality of Karlovo, in central Bulgaria and the northern part of Plovdiv region. The project spans across the areas of Dabene and Vasil Levski, a region with favorable solar conditions and strong potential for renewable energy development.
The plant generates clean electricity sufficient to meet the annual demand of approximately 44000 households. A total of 186 108 next-generation solar panels have been installed, including bifacial panels that enhance energy production by capturing sunlight from both sides.
The efficiency of the plant is further optimized through the use of single-axis tracking systems, which follow the sun throughout the day. In line with site-specific conditions, tracking systems are installed across approximately 88% of the solar field area.
Karlovo Photovoltaic Power Plant is the largest renewable energy project in the municipality of Karlovo and plays a key role in the development of sustainable energy infrastructure in the region.
The project avoids over 217 000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, contributing to decarbonization and environmental sustainability.
